A bright and sunny day saw our Austin Drive facility filled with multiple generations of players, alumni, supporters and family members. The 2006 ICRC cup winning team was well represented and were able to relive their success through video of the game, shown by Koko Lozada, and touch the McCormick Cup again courtesy of Balmy Beach who loaned it for the day.
The highlight of the day was the presence of club member and Olympic Sevens medalist Charity Williams who took time out of a busy schedule to attend. Members of all ages took the opportunity to hold or touch her Olympic medal while being photographed with Charity.
The main events of the day were the two senior men’s game against Toronto Scottish. Both games were hard fought but at the end of the day the league leading Scottish prevailed.
Inside the clubhouse sales of apparel, baked goods and refreshments were brisk while outside the BBQ was busy and the 50/50 draw was popular.
A few additional members took the opportunity to donate to the Alumni Club and we are delighted to welcome our first woman donor.
Many thanks to all who worked and contributed to make the day a great success.
